Oh, in case you didnt know, this man is official. Co-signed by Kanye West and promoted by World Famous Promotions (fat shout out to Dilla), he's about to take the music scene by storm.

What’s good?

Well right now my single Plastic is out featuring Kanye West. I’m also working on the Barack Obama Mixtape that’s about to come out. There’s also the Glow in the Dark Tour, with the Big Homie Kanye. I’m also working on my album First Impression. I have Nas, Kanye, and Jenifer Hudson on the album. I didn’t want too many features though; I wanted the people to get a feel for me as an artist.

What’s new with you? What do you have coming up?

Well, I want to help bring a label to Chicago. Chicago artists usually have to go to another city to get on. It’s not like New York where you can say “Oh, one day I’m going to have an office in this building or that building for my label”. We don’t have that in the Chi. I want to help empower Chicago artists because we have a lot of talent. I also want to brink A&R’s in the city. Eventually though, I want to branch off into clothing lines and all that other stuff.

How does your artist/promoter relationship work? Is it all good? Any beefs or miscommunications?

Actually me and my promoter (Dilla-Man) have a pretty smooth relationship. Promoters usually aren’t hard to work with at all. I love interacting with promoters because they know what’s going on in the streets and they stay connected with the market. Me and promoters have an equal grind. I keep the music hot; they keep my name hot and connected with the people, so it’s all good.

What inspired you to rap?

A DJ used to live across the street from me. His name was Sean. He always used to bang out new songs from KRS-1, Naughty by Nature, and Nas to name a few. He also used to have all kind of girls running in and out of his house, ha-ha which also was cool, but I was a youngster back then. He gave me my first tape which was NWA, and I remember banging it everyday.

I know you’re down with Kanye, but how do you intend to make your mark?

I’m going to bring soul and hood the game. I respect Raekwon, Nas, and Guru’s. My album is going to be all that mixed into one pot. I love real hip hop that you can listen to for years. My album is going to be one of those albums you can still bang 4 years from now.

In this critical time, how are you staying positive, especially with the music industry taking a decline?

I’m always doing something new. I try and stay in touch with the fans to see what they want. I personally sign autographs. I personally comment back on people’s MySpace pages, no matter how busy I am.

Is there anyone we should look out for?

Yea man, my producer Dane Winslow. He’s from Baltimore and lives in L.A. now. He played those horns you hear on “We Major”. He just got off tour with Snoop Dogg. He plays instruments and is a real live musician. He can make instruments sound like samples, it’s crazy!
Also, besides me, my man Phil G is bringing back the lyrics and the classical hip hop feel.

Any last words for the people?

Support my album 1st Impression. My first single is Plastic featuring Kanye West. This album is going to grab your attention. It’s very balanced, but way out of the box. Chicago lets stand up! Let’s come together and let’s make it. Also, we’re shooting another video for Consequence’s album “Don’t Quit Your Day Job”. Thanks.

Really Doe was my first interview, and I must say he is a cool cat. It sounds like he has a plan on his hands to do big things for the Windy City. Now let’s just pray that he blows like Chicago wind (no homo).
