Reggie looking to bring the SB to New Orleans!

Sunday, February 7, 2010. To many, this is just a regular Sunday, first Sunday of the month of February. But to millions of sports fans across the world, this is SUPER BOWL SUNDAY! The culmination of the most popular sport in America is always a show, every single season, regardless of who is actually playing in the game. As a fan, I’ve experienced a Super Bowl victory for my favorite team (Baltimore Ravens) and I’ve also experienced the riots of a Super Bowl victor that happens to be a fierce rival (Pittsburgh Steelers). This is a game that can change the lives of nearly every player on the winning team and lead to endorsements, new contracts, etc. Enough of that though and on to the game. Without factoring in the emotional factors of a game of this magnitude, it seems as if the Colts will run rampant on Sunday and destroy the Saints in Super Bowl XLIV. On paper, the Colts seem to be more experienced, more talented, and they come from the powerful AFC conference. However, the Super Bowl has never been played on paper, but instead on the gridiron. And although the Saints come into this game with all the momentum and emotion to overcome the mystique of Peyton Manning and shock the world to bring a Super Bowl to the city of New Orleans, I just cannot see Peyton losing this game. If I remember correctly, the Colts were 14-0 and beating the Jets when they decided that a run to the Super Bowl was more important to them than an undefeated record. The Colts should legitimately be 18-0 heading into this game, and if they were, they would be the clear and undisputed favorite in this game. I think that Peyton is going to get the Colts up early on the weak Saints defense and they’ll continue to hold the lead with Joseph Addai and the rookie Donald Brown pounding the rock and running downhill. Any game involving Saints QB Drew Brees can go either way, but I think the Saints comeback attempt will come up short, with the Colts winning 38-34.

Prediction: Colts 38 Saints 34. Peyton Manning = MVP.
